Frequently Asked Questions

What buyers, fabricators and procurement teams actually ask us — about the kettle, the coating, the standards we work to, and how an order gets from enquiry to despatch.

01

The company

Who Indo East is, where we are, and what we make

What does Indo East Corporation manufacture?

Fabricated and hot-dip galvanized steel structures. The main lines are telecom towers and monopoles, substation and transmission structures, railway overhead electrification structures and steel channel sleepers, solar module mounting structures, and heavy structural fabrication. Polymer (composite) insulators and pole line hardware are supplied alongside our structures.

When was Indo East founded?

The business was founded in 1975 by Mr. Rajkumar Kejriwal. It was incorporated as a private limited company in 2010 under CIN U28910WB2010PTC141684. Both dates are correct — 1975 is when the business began, 2010 is when the present legal entity was formed.

Where is the works?

Jalan Industrial Complex, Gate No. 1, Right Lane No. 6, Jangalpur, NH-6, Howrah 711411, West Bengal, India — about 22 km from Kolkata Port, with direct NH-6 access for trailer movement.

What is the annual capacity?

Over 18,000 MT a year. The maximum single-piece fabrication weight is 5 tonnes.

Who are your customers?

Indian and multinational buyers including Reliance Jio, Airtel, BSNL, Vodafone, Ericsson, L&T, Siemens, ABB, GE, Godrej, Alstom T&D, WBSETCL and Indian Railways.

02

Galvanizing

The kettle, the coating, and job work

Do you accept galvanizing job work from other companies?

Yes. We accept hot dip galvanizing job work from fabricators, OEMs and project contractors across Kolkata, Howrah and eastern India. Send the drawing or the component details and we will confirm whether it fits the kettle and what the turnaround looks like.

What size is the galvanizing kettle?

7.0 m × 1.2 m × 1.6 m, operating at 450–460 °C. Longer members are handled by double-end dipping where the geometry allows it.

Is galvanizing done in-house or sub-contracted?

In-house. The kettle is on our own floor, which means fabrication and coating are under one quality system and one accountability — no transport between two vendors, and no second party to chase when a coating query arises.

What coating thickness do you achieve?

75–85 microns as standard, verified with a calibrated DFT gauge. Where a purchase specification is written in coating mass — for example 610 g/m² — we work to the equivalent thickness.

Which galvanizing standards do you work to?

IS 2629 for the hot dip galvanizing process, IS 4759 for zinc coating on structural steel, and IS 6745 and IS 2633 for coating mass and uniformity testing. For export orders we work to the equivalent practice described in ASTM A123, and ASTM A153 for hardware and fasteners.

03

Quality and approvals

How work is checked, and by whom

What certifications does Indo East hold?

ISO 9001:2015 for quality management, ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management and ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety. We are also RDSO approved for railway structures and steel channel sleepers, and NSIC and Udyam / MSME registered.

What testing equipment do you have on site?

A Bruker Q2 ION optical emission spectrometer imported from Germany and commissioned in June 2026, reading steel, zinc, aluminium and copper; a universal testing machine; an analogue Rockwell hardness tester; and calibrated dry film thickness gauges. We also run an in-house tool room, so jigs and fixtures are made on site.

Do you allow third-party inspection?

Yes, and we welcome it. Inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas, TÜV, DNV, Intertek or a customer-nominated agency is supported at the buyer's cost. NABL and CPRI test reports can be arranged where a purchase specification calls for them.

04

Ordering and export

Enquiries, documents and shipping

Are you a registered exporter?

Yes. Indo East holds Import Export Code 0211004090 issued by DGFT, and Registration-cum-Membership Certificate RCMC/EEPCINDIA/07882/2026-2027 with EEPC India as a Merchant-cum-Manufacturer Exporter. The company also carries Legal Entity Identifier 9845004CBFM4DB680818.

Which countries have you exported to?

Indo East has completed one direct export — fabricated structural steel shipped to the Maldives in January 2018 under our own Import Export Code, through Kolkata Port. Indo East steel is also installed on a 50 MW solar project in Togo, West Africa, supplied through a client rather than shipped by us. We are actively accepting direct export orders and state this record plainly rather than implying a wider footprint.

What export documents do you provide?

Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill, certificate of origin, mill test certificates, galvanizing inspection report with coating thickness readings, and a third-party inspection certificate where one is required. Certificates of origin are issued through the Merchants' Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Kolkata, and via the Government of India eCoO portal.

Which trade bodies is Indo East a member of?

IEEMA (Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers' Association), EEPC India, the Merchants' Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Kolkata, and ILZDA (India Lead Zinc Development Association). These are memberships and registrations, not quality approvals — the independently audited certifications are the three ISO standards above.
