Substation Structures & Transmission Towers

Substation gantries, equipment supports, transmission line towers and distribution poles — built to utility specifications and third-party inspected.

Indo East supplies substation structures, transmission line towers and distribution steelwork from 33 kV to 765 kV — bus posts, gantries, equipment supports, deadend structures, lightning masts, and suspension, tension, deadend and transposition towers. Steel is IS 2062, design references are IS 802 and IS 875 Part 3, and galvanizing is IS 2629 and IS 4759 at 85+ microns on our own kettle.

We are an approved vendor to WBSEDCL, WBSETCL, OPTCL, BSPTCL, NBPDCL and SBPDCL among other state electricity boards, and to L&T, ABB, Siemens, Alstom T&D and Polycab. There are dedicated pages for substation structures, transmission line towers, monopoles and earthing materials.

Power Infrastructure

Power Transmission & Substation Structures

Our power infrastructure range covers the full spectrum from 33kV to 765kV — substation structures, transmission line towers, and distribution structures. We are an approved vendor for WBSEDCL, WBSETCL, OPTCL, BSPTCL, NBPDCL, SBPDCL, and numerous other State Electricity Boards and engineering companies including L&T, ABB, Siemens, Alstom T&D, and Polycab.

All power structures are engineered for longevity in harsh outdoor environments. Our hot-dip galvanizing provides decades of corrosion protection, significantly reducing maintenance costs over the structure's lifetime.

The whole power range, in one place

Substation and transmission structures, line hardware and earthing materials — all of it fabricated and hot-dip galvanized on one floor at Jangalpur, Howrah, to IS 2062 steel and a 75–85 micron coating read on a calibrated gauge, batch by batch. One company is accountable for the fabrication and for the coating.

Frequently Asked Questions

What voltage classes does Indo East build substation and transmission structures for?

33 kV, 66 kV, 110 kV, 220 kV, 400 kV and 765 kV - covering substation structures, transmission line towers and 11 kV / 33 kV distribution structures.

Which substation structure types are manufactured?

Bus posts, gantries, deadend structures, lightning masts and equipment support frames for 33 kV to 765 kV switchyards, plus feeder pillars.

Which transmission tower types do you fabricate?

Suspension, tension, deadend and transposition towers for EHV lines, fabricated to the utility's or EPC contractor's approved drawings.

What material and galvanizing specification are power structures built to?

IS 2062 Grades A, B and C, IS 8500 high-strength steel, and IS 1239 pipes. Hot-dip galvanizing is to IS 2629 / IS 4759 with a coating of 85+ microns.

Which utilities has Indo East been approved by?

Approved vendor for WBSEDCL, WBSETCL, OPTCL, BSPTCL, NBPDCL and SBPDCL among other State Electricity Boards, and for engineering companies including L&T, ABB, Siemens, Alstom T&D and Polycab.

Which design standards are followed?

CEA, IS, IEC and BS standards, or the customer's own specification where one is issued.

Is galvanizing carried out in-house?

Yes. Fabrication and hot-dip galvanizing happen on the same Howrah site, in a 7-metre kettle (7 m x 1.2 m x 1.6 m). Nothing is sent out for coating.

Does Indo East supply polymer insulators and pole line hardware?

Yes. Composite polymer insulators, pole line hardware and fittings are part of the power range and are supplied alongside our substation, transmission and distribution structures, so a utility or EPC buyer can source the structure and its hardware from one vendor. Voltage class, creepage and mechanical rating are quoted against the customer's specification.

Do you accept third-party inspection?

Yes. Power structures are routinely supplied against third-party inspection to utility specifications.
